【产品应用场景1】

中子治疗，硼中子俘获治疗（Boron Neutron Capture Therapy，简称BNCT）。

       BNCT的原理是利用发生在肿瘤细胞内的核反应摧毁癌细胞，由于同时需要中子源和B，因此，是一种二元化治疗肿瘤的新方法。BNCT的基本过程分为两部分：首先在肿瘤细胞内聚积足够量的稳定性核素B，即将一种含B的化合物引入患者体内，这种化合物与肿瘤细胞有很强的亲和力，进入体内后，迅速聚集于肿瘤细胞内，而在其它正常组织中分布很少；然后再用中子束照射肿瘤部位，使中子与肿瘤细胞内聚集的B发生B（n,α）Li核反应，B俘获中子后，形成同位素B，B迅速分裂为重粒子Li和α，肿瘤细胞被α射线和Li照射而死亡。适用于硼中子捕获治疗的含硼化合物应具备四个重要特性：对人体毒性低、对正常细胞的亲和性低、对癌细胞的亲和性高（最好可达正常细胞的3倍以上，且每克癌细胞分布的硼达到20微克以上）、能被人体迅速从正常细胞和血液移除。目前仅有两种含硼化合物应用在临床试验：Sodium Borocaptate (BSH)以及Boronophenylalanine(BPA)。

美国Plant Cell Technology公司为商业及研究用植物组织培养实验室和植物种植者开发、生产了旗舰产品PPM™ (Plant Preservative Mixture)，它是一种广谱抗微生物剂，可以杀死细菌和真菌细胞，防止真菌孢子的萌发，并在较高浓度下能消除内源性污染的外植体。研究表明PPM™活性成分可以渗透过真菌或细菌细胞壁，抑制柠檬酸循环和电子传递链等中心代谢循环中的关键酶的活性，并且可以抑制培养基中的单糖和氨基酸向真菌和细菌细胞的运输。PPM™能有效地抑制植物细胞和植物组织培养中的通过空气、水、人传播的微生物污染及内源性污染，而不会影响体外种子发芽、愈伤组织增殖和愈伤组织的再生。并且，PPM™具有热稳定性，可以和培养基一起灭菌，同时比常用抗生素价更低廉，可以作为植物组织培养基的标准成分。

 

The principal PCT scientist involved in the development of the PPM™ application is Dr. Assaf Guri. Dr. Assaf Guri holds degrees in genetics, applied genetics and plant breeding from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Michigan State University in the US. Neuro Probe was founded in the late 1960’s with an initial focus on the development and manufacture of chronic stereotactic equipment. In the early 1970’s, corporate growth and diversification lead to the development and production of chemotactic instruments, beginning with the modified Boyden chamber and then assorted blind well chambers. In 1980, the 48-well microchemotaxis chamber was developed, in collaboration with Dr. Edward Leonard and Dr. Werner Falk working at the National Institutes of Health. This chamber has become a standard in the field and has served as a basis for the development of many new products. Most recently introduced is the ChemoTx® system.
